LONDON — A lion print on paper bags can be made with a variety of materials, including flat paper bags and paper bags made from the skin of a cat.
Lion prints are a popular item for Halloween and many stores stock them, so why not make your own print yourself?
Here are the tools and materials needed:1.
A flat sheet of paper or cardstock, about 1.5 inches by 1.25 inches (3.5 centimeters by 2.5 cm).2.
A piece of fabric or felt (a cheap cheap fabric will work, as long as it’s sturdy enough to hold the print)3.
A few strips of cardboard4.
A couple of scissors5.
A sharp knife6.
A nail file8.
A small plastic bottle of glue (you can also use a glue stick to make the print stronger)9.
A paper towel10.
A towel paperclip11.
A water bottle12.
A rubber band13.
A wire clamp14.
A tape measure16.
A pencil and paper glue (these will be useful later)17.
A bottle of white paint (or something red)22.
A large paintbrush23.
A glue stick24.
A glass of milk25.
A pair of scissors28.
A roll of toilet paper29.
A sheet of newspaper30.
A disposable paper bag1.
Get a sheet of cardboard.
The cheaper the better, so get a thick piece of cardboard or some thin cardboard.2.
Take your flat sheet and cut out a rectangle that is about 3 inches (7 centimeters) long.
Make sure that the length of your print is a minimum of 1 inch (2 centimeters) above the bottom edge of your flat.3.
Cut out a strip of fabric to be used as a template for your lion print.
You can also make a print on the backside of the paper, if you want, or on the frontside of a piece of folded paper, but make sure it is sturdy enough for the print to hang on.4.
Using a sharp knife, cut out the outline of your lionprint from the top edge of the folded paper and fold the paper back down to the desired length.
You should end up with a rectangle of about 1 inch by 1 inch or so (3 centimeters by 3 centimeters).5.
Now, take your flat paper bag, and cut it into 2.25 inch strips.
Cut each strip out into two long strips of fabric, one long, the other short.
The longer strip should be about 1 foot (30 centimeters) wide.6.
Cut the strips in half to make 2 inch (5 centimeters) square strips, and then cut each of the strips out into about 3 inch (9 centimeters) strips.
Each strip should end in a square.7.
Using scissors, cut each strip of the first strip into 3.5 inch (8 centimeters) squares, and each strip into 4 inch (12 centimeters) triangles.8.
Cut strips of the second strip into 2 inch squares, then cut the triangles out of the triangles into 2 inches squares.
You’ll have a square of about 3 feet (9 meters) long, so cut out 4 square triangles.9.
Now cut out strips of each of your strips into 1 inch squares.
Fold each square into a circle, and you’ll have an oval of about 4 feet (12 meters) in diameter.10.
Now make the final print out of each strip and the triangles.
Fold the sides over so that the triangles form a circle and the top of the rectangle is about 1/4 inch (3 millimeters) below the bottom.11.
Now use a water bottle to glue your print to the top and bottom of the plastic bottle.
Cut two strips of felt and glue the print onto them.
Then, with a sharp piece of wire, tie the two strips together with two pieces of felt.
You will want to tie these two strips in at the top, as well as the bottom, as you make the seal.12.
Hang your print on a sheet or piece of paper.
You want the print on your paper to be slightly smaller than your cubicle and the print will be more comfortable and more secure.13.
Take a paper towel and wrap it around your lion’s paw to seal it, but be sure not to touch the print.14.
Take another paper towel to hang your print from the side of your cubicles.
The printed lion print should now be visible.15.
If you’re having trouble hanging your print, try this simple trick: Put a small piece of string between the bottom and top of your printed lion, and tie a knot around the string.16.
Next, make a second print of the same lion print and tie another knot around both strings, and make a third
